Bahraini defence minister asserts GCC's keenness on strengthening joint military action

Bahraini Minister of State for Defense Affairs Lt. General Dr. Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulla Al-Khalifa affirmed on Wednesday that Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries are keen to strengthen and develop the joint military action and attain stability to countries and people of the region. The recommendations reached by the meeting affirmed the desire to achieve advancement in the GCC countries, and keenness on developing its joint military forces to maintain security in the region, Sheikh Mohammad said in his speech during the inauguration of the 12th meeting of the Joint Defense Council of the Ministers of Defense of the GCC. Also, he added that GCC countries are always keen to boost joint Gulf action, attain interests of their countries and people, and reach integration through coordination of all efforts, affirming at the same time the Gulf countries share the unity of the goal and fate. In the same context, Kuwaiti Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Sheikh Khalid Al-Jarrah Al-Sabah said, in his speech at the meeting, that the meeting's recommendations prove the keenness of GCC countries to improve their joint military forces, calling at the same time on GCC ministers of defense to take part in the next meeting in Kuwait. For his part, GCC Secretary General Abdullatif Al-Zayani asserted that military cooperation for GCC countries reflects their faith in the importance of joint Gulf action in order to maintain their security and stability.
