
Commander-in-Chief of Bahrain Defence Force (BDF), Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, today received French Chief of Defence Staff General Pierre de Villiers and the accompanying delegation, currently on a visit to Bahrain.
The French delegation was briefed on BDF establishment and keenness of HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa on developing BDF weapons and formations.
Commander-in-Chief commended the friendship relations between the two countries and the growing military cooperation.
The two sides discussed means of reinforcing military cooperation, and topics of joint interest.
The meeting was attended by BDF Chief of Staff, Lt-Gen. Diab bin Saqr Al-Nuaimi, Defence Undersecretary, Maj-Gen Shaikh Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Inspector General Maj-Gen Abdullah Hassan Al-Nuaimi, and a number of senior officers. In addition to French Ambassador to Bahrain Bernard Regnauld-Fabre and a number of French officials.
