Bahraini institution human rights expresses regret over death of a policeman

The National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR) expressed deep sadness and regret over the death of a policeman and the injury of many others in a terror blast which happened in Al-Dair village yesterday. It strongly condemned the acts of sabotage witnessed by Bahrain over the past three days, including car bomb explosions in crowded places in Manama and nearby areas, which targeted the security officers and innocent people, shook security and stability, terrorised people and threatened civil peace. The institution called on the civil society institutions to take firm and unified stances to stop the illegal acts and face decisively the attempts tampering with the security of the nation and people. It denounced the acts of vandalism undergone by Bahrain which, it said, are in breach of all religious values, international covenants and the inherent characteristics of the Bahraini people who have always been known for their tolerance and renunciation of violence and extremism. The NIHR reiterated confidence in the competence of the security bodies to handle those illegal acts, which are alien to the Bahraini society and which aim to wreak havoc and drive wedges among Bahrainis. It urged the Bahraini people to remain vigilant, hold on to national unity and refrain from violence and extremism. It also extended condolences to the family of the policeman who martyred in Al-Dair terror blast, praying God Almighty to rest his soul in eternal peace and paradise.
