Bahraini interior ministry undersecretary patronizes workshop

The General Traffic Directorate held a workshop themed "Traffic Safety from the International and Gulf Perspective." It was organized by the University of Bahrain College Of Engineering's Centre for Traffic and Roads Studies, under the patronage of Interior Ministry Undersecretary Major General Khalid Salim Al-Absi. The function was part of the 29th GCC Traffic Week, held under the slogan "Your Safety is Our Goal". Major General Al-Absi stressed the Interior Ministry's keenness to take advantage of the opportunity to intensify awareness programmes. The workshop presented a detailed account on the importance of the Centre for Traffic and Roads Studies, its history and the services it presents. It also spotlighted key traffic issues including the dangers of using hand-held mobile phones while driving, road accidents and ways of minimizing them.
