The visit of the Bahraini parliamentary delegation to European capitals has achieved landmark success and enhanced the kingdom's relations with European organisations and agencies, highlighted the achievements of the legislative and executive branches, revealed the truth and rectified the fallacies disseminated by political associations for the sake of distorting the country's reputation and impeding the National Dialogue that was widely appreciated by European officials. In an interview with the Bahrain News Agency (BNA), Chairman of the delegation MP Ahmed Al-Mulla said the visit aimed to activate the Bahraini parliamentary diplomacy and highlight the kingdom's political achievements and its efforts to implement the recommendations of the Bahrain Independent Commission of Inquiry (BICI).He said that the delegation affirmed the kingdom's ability to overcome the current situation thanks to the cohesion and unity of its people, and strong resolve to continue the National Dialogue in order to reach national solutions that add to the kingdom's milestone achievements and preserve the country's deep-rooted status as an oasis of co-existence, tolerance and diversity. He added that the delegation affirmed the kingdom's commitment to dialogue, as it has always done, and determination to continue reforms, as the best way to meet the aspirations of the Bahraini people, voiced during the referendum on the National Action Charter, approved almost unanimously. In this regard, the delegation exposed the irresponsibility of political associations in Bahrain through disseminating false information about the situation in the country, stressing that whoever seeks to meet the expectations of all social segments has to stop publishing lies and put an end to incitement platforms used by those societies and their followers.Al Mulla said that the delegation had, during its meetings with high European officials, highlighted HM the King's directives to HRH Crown Prince to meet all political groups in order to ensure the continuation of the National Dialogue and work out national consensual solutions. He pointed out that the European sides had welcomed the Royal initiative to resume the National Dialogue, and described it as a move reflecting the political leadership's keen interest to contain the crisis in a peaceful and effective way and protect national unity. He added that the European sides had expressed support to the National Dialogue and the "positive" achievements attained by the kingdom regarding freedoms of opinion and expression, as well as political work, in a record time.He noted that the European sides had stressed the importance of the participation of all parties in the National Dialogue, being the best civilised approach to discuss all issues and overcome all challenges. They also lauded the kingdom's political and democratic reforms, he also said.
