A legislative delegation led by Parliament Speaker Khalifa bin Ahmed Al-Dhahrani today headed to Kuwait to attend the 19th conference of the Arab Inter-parliamentary Union (AIPU), scheduled to be held in Kuwait on April 9-10. The delegation was welcomed on arrival by Kuwaiti National Assembly Speaker Ali Fahd Al-Rashid and other officials. The heads of the delegations will discuss the Arab situation and instability hitting several countries in the Arab World. The Committees of Political Affairs and International Relations, Financial and Economic Affairs, Woman and Childhood Affairs will hold meetings. The work plan of the Arab Inter-parliamentary Union (AIPU) for 2013 will come under the spotlight at the conference. Parliament First Deputy Chairman Abdulla bin Khalaf Al-Dosary earlier headed to Kuwait to take part in the meetings of the Executive Committee and the Parliamentary Excellence Award Committee. Bahrain has nominated Khalifa bin Ahmed Al-Dhahrani for the Parliamentary Excellence Award.
