
His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa has lauded friendly Pakistan's supportive stances towards GCC countries' efforts to maintain security in the region and safeguard it against any interference that may destabilise it.
He said that such stances stemmed from the long-standing relations between the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and Pakistan.
HRH Premier pointed out that the Arabian Gulf region had succeeded in overcoming the serious incidents and challenges it had gone through thanks to the strength of its peoples and cooperation with its friendly countries, stressing that the GCC will continue doing all what it deems necessary to ensure its right to a secure life through preventing any interference that may undermine its security.
HRH Premier made the remarks as he received at the Gudaibiya Palace today the Commander-in-Chief of the Bahrain Defence Force (BDF) Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, who introduced to him the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee in Pakistan General Rashad Mahmood.
Gen. Rashad Mahmood conveyed to HRH Premier greetings from the Pakistani President Mamnoon Hussain and Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, and their wishes of further progress and prosperity to Bahrain, under its leadership.
HRH Premier underscored the importance of continuous coordination and cooperation between the two friendly countries vis-à-vis various regional and international issues.
He also affirmed the need to enhance coordination at the bilateral, Asian and international levels so as to contribute to efforts to support global security and stability and combat all forms of terrorism.
HRH Premier expressed satisfaction over the advanced level of Bahraini-Pakistani relations in all fields, especially the military and defence fields, in light of the existing mutual understanding and joint coordination on a number of regional and international issues.
HRH Premier reviewed with the Pakistani Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee Chairman the latest regional and global developments.
He also requested him to convey his greetings to the Pakistani President and Prime Minister, and wishes of more progress and prosperity to friendly Pakistan.
