His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa received at Gudaibiya Palace today a number of MPs, religious figures, intellectuals, media persons, businessmen, economic and trading figures and citizens, led by Speaker of the Representatives Council Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Dhahrani. HRH the Prime Minister affirmed that Bahrain is living in an atmosphere of freedom and democracy, saying that Bahrain has a king who cares for his people and a government that seeks to meet their aspirations despite its limited resources. He said that it is not acceptable for anyone to try to harm the national interests by committing acts of vandalism and intimidation under the pretext of reforms, despite the ongoing dialogue. He added that Bahrain has many constitutional institutions that include the Council of Representatives which represents all the society’s segments. HRH the Prime Minister expressed optimism that the government's action will thrive after the appointment of HRH the Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander as First Deputy Premier in terms of uniting decisions which will positively affect the development of the executive power. He praised the one-family spirit characterizing the Bahraini society, noting that the people of Bahrain are always united despite differences in opinion. He said that expressing opinions and demands is not difficult in Bahrain, stressing that Bahrain is capable of solving its own issues thanks to its people’s unity against foreign interference. HRH recalled public stances that protected Bahrain and preserved its national achievements and pillars. He said that the voice of the Bahraini people has always been heard and it has a regional and international input in preserving Bahrain’s Arabism and unity. HRH the Prime Minister stressed that openness, democracy, human rights and reform form the basis of the Bahraini society, adding that the government is adopting openness and transparency as an approach in dealing with public matters. He also affirmed that Bahrain will always move forward thanks to the dedication of its wise leadership. HRH condemned subversive acts and attempts to harm citizens’ interests by groups of vandals, stressing that Bahrainis do not accept such illegal acts which will be dealt with by force of the law. HRH the Prime Minister praised the role of national media and editors for their role in conveying what happens in the street.
