Bahraini prince receives US Senator Robert Corker

His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, received at Gudaibiya Palace today US Senator Robert Corker. Discussing strong bilateral relations, His Royal Highness reiterated commitment to strengthening these ties and building on the decades long partnership the two nations have shared. His Royal Highness went on to discuss the current situation in Bahrain and stressed that securing lasting and sustainable reform takes both time and a long-term vision. He unequivocally emphasised that consensus is an essential component to the success of reform and that lessons can be learnt from experiences around the region. His Royal Highness welcomed the visit of Senator Corker, stating that such visits are important for maintaining and fostering bilateral relations. In discussing regional issues, he said that such exchanges of thoughts and ideas were mutually beneficial. In response, Senator Corker expressed his appreciation of Bahrain’s role in helping the United States maintain stability in the region.
