Bahraini Chief of Staff Maj.-Gen. Sheikh Daij bin Salman Al Khalifa has paid an inspection visit to the site of the joint mobilization drill, codenamed , "the invincible fortification", currently carried out by the a number of the Bahrain Defence Force (BDF)''s units, in cooperation with the US Central Command. During the visit, Sheikh Daij was briefed on the objectives and goals of the exercise and the troops taking part in the drill which began earlier on Tuesday. In this regard, the Chief of Staff affirmed that the two-day drill aims to consolidate and strengthen the command and control of air forces during joint actions in order to determine the best ways air defence systems can deal with air targets and ballistic missiles and carry out rescue operations. He also asserted that the drill is within a series of similar joint exercises performed by the BDF and the US Central Command, which, he said, aims to upgrade Bahraini-US Military cooperation and coordination. Sheikh Daij also pointed out that such high-level joint drills are effective as they improve military performance and preparedness of the participants, praising the advanced level of the units taking part in the exercise. For his part, Commander of the Royal Bahrain Air Force (RBAF) Brigadier-General Sheikh Hamad bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, Joint Operations director Brigadier-General Ghanim Ibrahim Al Fadhala and senior BDF and US Central Command officers attended the drill.
