
Caretaker Water and Energy Minister, Gebran Bassil, stressed Sunday that Christians ought to be present and well-represented in ministerial portfolios of sovereign, services and regular nature."We cannot build a country when the correct models and criteria are lost in favor of incorrect political considerations," added Bassil. He stressed that a national, consensus spirit is required to be present in Lebanon and amongst all Lebanese."Our calls for reconciliation and consensus, however, do not mean that we become alienated, marginalized or ruled-out in the country," noted Bassil. "We, as Christians, exist via our entity and patriotism in Lebanon and our presence ought to be reflected fairly and equally within the parliament council, presidency, premiership and government in proper and true representation," he added.Bassil's words came as he laid the cornerstone for a new solar power plant project along the course of Beirut River on Sunday, in presence of several prominent concerned figures
