A fire on an Ethiopian Airlines Boeing 787 Dreamliner at London's Heathrow airport was not caused by its batteries, investigators said Saturday according to dpa. A report by the Air Accidents Investigation Branch (AAIB) said:" at this stage, there is no evidence of a direct causal relationship" between the batteries and the fire at Heathrow on Friday. The agency noted that the initial investigation is likely to take several days. But it clarified that the heat damage to the aircraft “is remote from the area in which the aircraft main and APU(Auxiliary Power Unit) batteries are located." The aircraft was parked at a remote parking stand and there was nobody on board at the time of the fire.
