Beirut twin blast death toll jumps to 6, 129 injured

The death toll from the twin blast in southern suburb of Beirut increased to six people, while more than 129 others injured, four in critical conditions, the Health Minister said Wednesday. Wael Abu Faour who visited the hospital and the blast location, said most of those injured left hospital, stressing in a statement to reporters on the need to swiftly issue a cabinet statement to address security and political conditions in the country, amid efforts to eliminate similar explosions. The minister stressed that the cabinet statement will be in regard to the security and protection of innocent Lebanese citizens against similar actions. Al-Qaeda-linked Abdullah Azzam Battalions claimed responsibility for the twin blast, as well as a previous attack last November, which targeted the Iranian embassy and resulted in killing 23 people and injuring 147 others
