
A 20-year-old Belgian Muslim called Tarik Taketloune from the town of Vilvoorde has been killed in fighting against the Assad regime around the Syrian tow of Al Quysair, Belgian media reported Monday. Daily 'Het Nieuwsblad' said that over the weekend, various Syrian websites reported Taketloune's death. The Belgian Foreign Ministry said it could not officially confirm the reports of his death. He is the brother of 23-year-old Elias Taketloune who was detained recently when he returned to Belgium from Syria, said the paper. Reportedly three Belgian youngsters have been killed in Syria fighting against the regime in Damascus.
