Belgian Foreign Minister Didier Reynders Monday said his country is ready to help in the destruction of the chemical weapons arsenal of Syria. "We are open to do something with experts, some capacity to transport chemical products because we dont speak about chemical weapons. We have destroyed the chemical weapons in Syria but there are some products for the preparation of the chemical weapons so we need to neutralize that," he told reporters ahead of an EU foreign ministers meeting in Brussels. "We have to see what kind of experts and where it is possible to organise the destruction," he said. Reynders stressed that there can only be a political solution to the Syrian crisis and hoped that the Geneva II meeting could be held to discuss this. Last week, Albania rejected an US request to take responsibility for the destruction of Syrian chemical weapons on its territory.
