Speaker of the House, Nabih Berri, met Friday in Ain-el-Tineh with the Head of the Lebanese Democratic Party, MP Talal Arslan, over the current general situation prevailing in the country. "As usual, the meeting was an occasion to discuss with Berri the current situation on the local, regional, and international levels," Arslan told reporters following the meeting. He also hailed the efforts exerted by Berri in an attempt to thaw the ice existing among rival parties in Lebanon. Arslan did not fail to reiterate that boycotting the Parliament was inadmissible, in a backlash at March 14 forces decision to suspend their participation in the parliamentary activities, except for the electoral sub-committee.
