
An explosion in Lahore city of eastern Pakistani province Punjab killed at least three people and wounded 37 others late on Saturday night. According to police, two persons had died and 12 others were wounded in the blast at an eatery situated in Old Anarkali's food street area of Lahore. The explosion targeted the ground floor of three-story restaurant situated on Food Street. The powerful blast was carried out using a homemade explosive device that was planted near a deep freezer, said bomb disposal experts. The bomb was detonated using a timer device. Numbers of shops were damaged and windowpanes of the nearby buildings were shattered. The victims were shifted to the nearby hospital where an emergency was imposed. Security forces reached the site of the incident and cordoned off the area to probe into the incident.
