Blast kills 11 officers, injures 28 in Mosul

A blast targeted a military convoy in eastern Mosul earlier Monday and left 11 officers dead and another 28 injured, said a police source. A source at Ninawa Security Operations Command told KUNA, "a suicide bomber set off a car he was driving while approaching the convoy after following the military vehicles for as long as 390 kilometers north of Baghdad." The source added that ambulances rushed to the scene to tend to the victims while security forces surrounded the area.
