Turkish police have defused a cluster time bomb situated at a courtyard of a daily Turkish newspaper in Istanbul, security officials said.
The bomb was found at Star’s courtyard at around 11.00 a.m. local time in Istanbul’s industrial Ikitelli district.
Next to the bomb was a banner bearing the initials of an illegal left-wing organization — MLK-P, or Marxist-Leninist Communist Party, according to News Fulton County website on Friday.
Security guards noticed the bomb and notified police. A bomb squad defused the explosive. An investigation has been launched.
According to local media, the same group claimed responsibility for a gun attack targeting a police station in Istanbul’s Sultangazi neighborhood on Tuesday.
