Bomb threat at Israeli peace group office

The Jerusalem office of Israeli group Peace Now were evacuated after receiving a bomb threat on Sunday evening, the organization said. Unknown assailants warned the building will explode in ten minutes in a "price tag" attack over the office intercom, the group said in a statement. The office was spray-painted with "price tag", director of Peace Now's Settlement Watch project Hagit Ofran told Israeli daily Haaretz. Israeli police are investigating the incident, the report said. Hardline Jewish settlers have adopted what they call a "price tag" policy under which they attack Palestinians and their property in response to Israeli government measures against settlements. Ordinarily carried out in the West Bank, the slogan has been found in attacks on mosques in Israel, as well as targeting the Israeli peace group. In August, Ofran's home was spray-painted with similar slogans, including "death to the traitors" and "Migron price tag," referring to an illegal settlement outpost in the West Bank, Haaretz said. Peace Now director Yariv Oppenheimer said the organization had warned Israeli police it was being threatened. "The political leadership backs up these incidents. Even if, on the face of it, there is condemnation, in practice the hooliganism of the right has support in the (Israeli parliament) Knesset," he added in a statement from the group.
