The UN-Arab League Joint Envoy for Syria Lakhdar Brahimi arrived in Cairo this evening from New York on a several days visit to Egypt, at the beginning of his mission, succeeding former envoy Kofi Annan. Brahimi's spokesman Ahmad Fawzi said that the UN-Arab League envoy will meet during the visit with Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi, and Foreign Minister Mohamed Kamel Amr to discuss Egypt's vision on the Syrian crisis .. He will also meet with Arab League Secretary General Dr. Nabil Al Arabi and a number of prominent figures of the Syrian opposition to discuss the latest developments in Syria. On Brahimi's visit to Syria, Fawzi said date for the visit will be set in the coming days in light of his current visit to Egypt, where he will then head to Syria after preparation for the visit by setting specific agenda for the meetings to be held there??.
