Britain hails Sisi efforts to achieve stability in Egypt

Britain appreciates efforts exerted by Abdel Fattah El Sisi to bring in stability in Egypt after a period of turmoil, British Legislator Alan Duncan said on Sunday.

He made the remarks during his participation in a panel of discussion organized by Egypt's Foreign Ministry between a British Parliamentary delegation of the Conservative Party and a number of Egyptian media figures, editors-in-chiefs and heads of political departments in some newspapers.

Egypt's Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ahmed Abu Zaid, British ambassador in Cairo John Casson attended the panel of discussion along with a galaxy of members of political research centers.

Duncan added the British delegation's visit to Egypt is a strong evidence of the strong relations between the two countries, saying it also reflects the great British attention to the Egyptian developments.

For their part, the Egyptian media figures asserted that Egypt has witnessed first free and fair elections for the first time in its history as no party has clinched the vast majority as well as the appropriate representation of women and Christians in the House of Representatives.

The British delegation promised to discuss with British officials lifting the travel ban on Egypt to revive Egypt's tourism industry affected by that decision, Abu Zaid said.
