Britain will be subject to a migration "free-for-all" as the next wave of EU expansion hands millions more people the right to move here, UK Justice Secretary Michael Gove warned on Monday.
In an article for The Times, Gove insisted potential new members of the EU such as Turkey and Albania pose a "direct and serious threat" to public services like the NHS, and social harmony.
He also warned that the NHS will be put under an "unquantifiable strain" by the influx of migrants and refugees an open door policy would continue to allow.
There is a direct and serious threat to our public services, standard of living and ability to maintain social solidarity if we accept continued EU membership, he noted.
