Eight members of the British Parliament arrived in the United Arab Emirates today on a four-day visit. The delegation members come from the three largest British political parties, the governing Conservatives and Liberal Democrats and the opposition Labour Party. Among the Labour members of the delegation are two Shadow Ministers for Energy and Climate Change and a Shadow Business Minister. The visit is intended to provide them with an opportunity to develop their understanding of the United Arab Emirates and build on the strong bilateral partnership between the UAE and the UK. During their visit, the British parliamentarians are expected to meet with senior political and business leaders in Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Al Ain. They will also visit the UAE's global hub for clean energy and renewable technologies, Masdar City. Over the past ten years, over 70 members of the British Parliament have visited the UAE.
