Briton arrested on suspicion of hacking into US defence department

A British man has been arrested on suspicion of hacking into the United States Department of Defense (DOD), The Telegraph reported.
The 23-year-old man was arrested on Wednesday by National Crime Agency (NCA) officers in Sutton Coldfield, in the West Midlands, on suspicion of offences linked to data stolen from a messaging service used by DOD employees around the world.
Contact information for around 800 people including name, title, email addresses and phone numbers, as well as details for around 34,400 devices were obtained during the attack last June, the NCA said.
The arrest was one of a number made across the UK by the NCA's National Cyber Crime Unit as part of a week-long coordinated effort to thwart hackers.
The UK's National Crime Agency (NCA) has mounted a "strike week" against suspected hackers resulting in 56 arrests.
In total, 25 separate operations were carried out across the UK.
