Brunei's Minister of Religious Affairs Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Haji Awg Othman on Saturday signed Egypt's anti-extremism and racial discrimination document.
Othman met with Egyptian Awqaf Minister Mohamed Mokhtar Gomaa in Aswan on the sidelines of the religious institutions' development conference.
He invited Gomaa to visit Brunei for more cooperation between the two ministries in the renewal of religious discourse and the training of imams.
The conference brings together dozens of ministers, muftis, religious and political officials and scholars from various countries to discuss the role of religious institutions in the Arab and Muslim worlds in the face of current challenges.
