Egyptian Foreign Minister Mohamed Amr expressed Egypt''s total rejection of any foreign intervention in Syrian affairs under any name, stressing that the unity of Syria represents an absolute priority that must be preserved in all circumstances. In a press statement today, the Egyptian Foreign Minister said Egypt''s stance towards the Syrian crisis was and is still based on the halt all manifestations of violence, provision of protection for civilians and the settlement of the crisis through dialogue between all parties. He pointed out that these are the same elements of the Arab initiative, accepted by the Syrian government. The Egyptian Foreign Minister appealed to officials in Syria to respond to Arab efforts and implement the Arab initiative so that the suspension of Syria''s membership would be halted.
