Cameron urged to put London mayor at heart of election campaign

Ministers are privately urging UK Prime Minister David Cameron to bring London Mayor Boris Johnson back into the fray to rejuvenate with the Conservative election campaign, the Telegraph reported on Thursday.
The disclosure comes as the Prime Minister faces increasing pressure following the resignation of Sir Malcolm Rifkind, while a poll for The Times newspaper revealed the Mayor of London's enviable popularity among voters.
More than three times as many people believe that Johnson is doing a good job than those who do not, according to the new YouGov poll.
"We need to appeal to people's heart as well," said one Conservative minister. "This is the bit that is missing at the moment."
Cameron has previously announced that Boris Johnson will lead the party’s electoral charge in the north of England.
Johnson will visit a series of key northern marginal seats as part of a Conservative bid to boost the party’s popularity in the region.
