Britain's Prime Minister David Cameron is to pay a rare family visit to German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Downing Street said Wednesday. In a highly unusual move, No 10 said Mrs Merkel had invited the Prime Minister to stay at her residence in Meseburg, outside Berlin, with his wife, Samantha, and their children. The exact date of the visit was not announced, but is expected to be soon. "It is part of the ongoing strong, very good working relationship that the Prime Minister and the German Chancellor have," Cameron's official spokesman said. The spokesman added that the discussions would cover "all aspects" of European reform as well as the forthcoming G8 summit and the situation in Syria. Mrs Merkel has made no secret of her concerns about Cameron's plans to renegotiate Britain's relationship with the EU and before staging a referendum on Britain's continuing membership. No 10 said it was trying to reschedule a meeting with French President Francois Hollande after Cameron pulled out of talks in Paris on Monday following the announcement of the death of Baroness Thatcher.
