
Canadian Defence Minister Jason Kenney met with the Foreign Affairs Minister of Iraq, Dr. Ibrahim al-Jaafari in Ottawa and discussed Operation IMPACT, the Canadian Armed Forces’ (CAF) contribution to Global Coalition efforts to fight Daesh in Iraq and Syria, according to a statement by the Canadian Defense Ministry.
During the discussion, Minister Kenney reiterated Canada’s commitment to help the Iraqi forces fight the terrorist group and to deny this terrorist group safe havens in Iraq or Syria.
” Minister al-Jaafari also provided Minister Kenney with an update on the impact of Coalition operations in support of Iraqi forces fighting Daesh, as well as the devastation ISIS is causing to Iraqi civilians, including ethnic and religious minorities, the statement said.
