
The Chinese government has decided to extend a new humanitarian financial assistance package worth $2.5 million to the government of Jordan as a relief measure for Syrian refugees in the Kingdom, the Chinese embassy in Amman said in a press release issued Wednesday. The embassy said the Chinese Ambassador in Amman Yue Xiaoyong informed the Jordanian side of this decision during a meeting with Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs Nasser Judeh on Wednesday. During the meeting, Xiaoyong reiterated Beijing’s appreciation of Jordan's efforts to host the Syrian refugees. The embassy noted that this was the third tranche of the Chinese humanitarian aid to Jordan for the purpose.
