China hands over fugitve to Russia

Chinese police have handed a murder suspect over to their Russian counterparts, China's Ministry of Public Security (MPS) revealed Friday.Mialichev Sergei is believed to have killed another Russian citizen on Oct. 17, 2011, and put the body in a lake before fleeing the country, according to the MPS.In February, he entered China via a third country. At the request of Russian police, Chinese police pursued the suspect and arrested him in Beijing.The MPS said it has cooperated with law enforcement authorities around the world. Since the beginning of last year, it has extradited 356 criminal suspects from other countries and regions and repatriated 27 foreign fugitives.
