China's Permanent Ambassador to the United Nations Security Council Li Baodong said continuation of talks between Tehran and 5+1 will lead to a final agreement. Baodong, who holds the rotatory chairmanship of the council, told Iranian official News agency "IRNA" that diplomacy is the only possible way towards settlement of differences between the two sides. He believed that more talks will help find a diplomatic way out of the present situation. The Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman had previously described the recent negotiations between Tehran and the 5+1 in Moscow as realistic and positive, stressing that Beijing was keen to play a constructive role in finding a long-term, all-out and appropriate solution to Iran's nuclear issue. Iran and the six powers agreed only to hold a technical follow-up meeting in Istanbul on July 3 after two days of talks in Moscow, European Union foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton said.
