China on Monday renewed support for dialogue between the Syrian government and opposition as a new round of talks is due to start in the Swiss city of Geneva, Xinhua news agency said.Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Hua Chunying said at a daily news briefing, “A political solution is the only right way to resolve the Syrian crisis. The Geneva talks should be a continuous process.” China called on the two sides to persist in their talks and find a “middle way,” Hua said, urging the international community to create a favorable external environment for the talks.Syrian parties agreed to a “humanitarian pause” last week to allow civilians out of and aid into the besieged city of Homs.“The two sides’ recent consensus on humanitarian relief fully shows the positive impact of the dialogues,” Hua said.
