China will strengthen military ties with Sudan and promote military cooperation between the two countries, Vice Chairman of China's Central Military Commission Xu Caihou said on Monday. During a meeting with Sudanese Defense Minister Abdel Rahim Mohamed Hussein, Xu said China and Sudan have a long history of friendship, and the two countries also have expanded cooperation in a wide range of fields since diplomatic relations were established. "Bilateral relations have developed to a new level and we hope to expand pragmatic military-to-military cooperation," Xu said. Hussein spoke highly of Sudan-China friendly relationship, saying that Sudan hoped to cooperate with China in various fields and expand consensus. "Sudan will continue to adhere to the one-China policy," Hussein said.
