Chinese Vice President Li Yuanchao during a meeting with Palestinian Foreign Minister Riyad Malki in Beijing on Friday restated China’s support for the Palestinian people’s struggle for independence through its support for the two-state solution that is supposed to lead to the creation of an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital.
Li stressed China’s support for Palestinian diplomatic efforts on international level, Palestinian News Agency (WAFA) reported.
The two officials discussed bilateral relations as well as coordinating steps on international issues, particularly the Palestinian cause.
Malki briefed the Chinese vice president on the latest developments in Palestine and the leadership’s political and diplomatic moves in the next stage, particularly President Mahmoud Abbas’ expected visit to Washington. He also invited the Chinese vice president to visit Palestine.
