China welcomed Monday with beginning of a new round of peace talks between the Syrian government and opposition in Geneva.
It urged the two sides to take effective measures to create mutual confidence via lifting blockade and allowing the humanitarian aid to reach the Syrians.
In press statements, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Lu Kang said that the two parties should exert more efforts to render the new round of talks successful, adding that the discussions are held at the request of the international community to settle the Syrian crisis.
The negotiations may be long and tough, he underlined, noting that it is the only way to find solution for that crisis.
China is keen on resuming work along with the international community to promote dialogue, the spokesman underscored.
