Top political advisor Yu Zhengsheng met with visiting Zambian President Michael Chilufya Sata on Wednesday, calling for further bilateral cooperation. Yu, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), spoke highly of the friendship forged between the two nations. Yu also expressed his belief that bilateral cooperation will bring concrete benefits to both sides. Yu briefed Sata on China's opening-up process and its political system, noting that the CPPCC will intensify high-level exchanges with its Zambian counterparts and strengthen exchanges of experience regarding social and economic management in order to boost national development on both sides. Sata said Zambia cherishes its ties with China, as well as welcomes Chinese companies to step up their investment in the country. He added that Zambia wishes to expand cooperation with China in multiple fields. Sata is visiting China at the invitation of President Xi Jinping. He attended the annual Boao Forum for Asia conference in south China's Hainan Province on Sunday.
