
A senior Chinese official on Tuesday called for unremitting efforts to fight terrorism and safeguard social stability. Guo Shengkun, State Councilor and Minister of Public Security, made the call at the first plenary meeting of the country's antiterrorism leading group, pledging to propel the country's antiterrorism work to a new level. Guo asked all areas and departments to implement relevant antiterrorism measures and establish long-term mechanisms, in order to lay a solid foundation for China's lasting stability. Guo urged public security departments at all levels to nip violent terrorist activities in the bud and eradicate the threat of violence.
