Chinese State Councilor Dai Bingguo met with U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton here Friday evening, with the two sides exchanging views in a frank and extensive way on China-U.S. relations and regional and international issues of common concern. The two sides expressed the readiness to implement the important consensus reached by the heads of state of the two countries during Chinese President Hu Jintao's state visit to the United States in January this year. They also agreed to unswervingly work on the development of a cooperative partnership based on mutual respect, mutual benefit and win-win results so as to ensure a healthy, stable development of Sino-U.S. relations in the next stage. Dai is accompanying President Hu to attend the 19th Economic Leaders' Meeting of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum scheduled for Saturday and Sunday in Honolulu.
