Citizens flock to Cairo Airport to receive Russian president

Dozens of Egyptian citizens flocked to Cairo International Airport on Monday to receive Russian President Vladimir Putin, who will arrive in Egypt within the coming few hours.
Citizens raised the Egyptian flags and posters of the Egyptian and Russian presidents along with a number of banners in Russian and English languages to welcome Putin.
During his two-day visit, Putin will discuss with Egypt's President Abdel Fattah El Sisi bilateral relations and exchange views on the current regional situation especially the situation in Iraq and Syria.
They will also discuss ways to push forward the peace process between the Palestinians and Israelis.
This is the first visit for Putin to Egypt since 2005. The visit is closely linked to talks that took place between the two presidents during Sisi’s visit to the Russian resort of Sochi in August 2014.
