U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton thanked the government of Pakistan for its efforts to protect U.S. facilities during the protests and deplored the loss of life. "As I have said on numerous occasions, the violence we have seen cannot be tolerated," she said following her meeting with the Pakistani Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar. Talks during the meeting dealt with means of enhancing bilateral relationship and working together on a 'focused' agenda. she told reporters. Clinton also said that she is scheduled to hold talks with Pakistan's President Asif Ali Zardari next week at the UN General Assembly. " At each meeting, we are working to identify the strategic goals we share – and there are many – and the concrete actions we can each take to accomplish them" she explained.
