
Hillary Clinton delivered an emotional concession speech to her supporters on Wednesday, less than 12 hours after losing the presidency, saying, "Donald Trump is going to be our president. We owe him an open mind and an opportunity to lead." Clinton lost to Trump in the biggest political upset in recent American history. "It is painful and it will be for a long time," Clinton said. "I hope he will be a successful president for all Americans." In veiled criticism of Trump, Clinton called for her millions of supporters to be vigilant during his presidency. She called for her follows to ensure freedom of religion and expression for all Americans and protection of people of all races, sexual orientation and with disabilities.
During the tough campaign against Trump, Clinton criticized Trump for not respecting the rights of all people, especially immigrants "Our Constitutional democracy demands our participation not just every four years, but all the time," she said. "Lets us advance in protecting our planet, fighting for an economy that works for everyone, not just at the top and for immigrants and people with disabilities." During a campaign stop this summer Trump mocked a disabled journalist in the crowd in an incident that Clinton severely criticized Trump for.
Clinton thanked her campaign team, as well as President Barack Obama and his wife, as well as her own family for the support they gave her. "This loss hurts, but never stop believing that fighting for what is right is worth it," she said. "It is worth it."
