Commander of Iran's Basij (volunteer) force Brigadier General Mohammad Reza Naqdi stressed the Islamic Revolution's growing clout and influence in the world, and said the Iranian Revolution has served as a role model for other nations. "The triumphs of Iran's Islamic Revolution are increasing," Naqdi said among Basij members in the country's Northern province of Mazandaran, and added that the proper interaction between the Iranian people and the country's authorities has been the main reason behind these achievements. He viewed strong popular support as "the most important privilege of Iran's Islamic Revolution", and said that the country's leadership wants the interests of the Islamic Revolution for people's honor and dignity. The commander further noted that the Iranian nation has gained a proper position in the world, and added that all the above facts have encouraged other nations to try to model on Iran. The remarks by Naqdi came three days after Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei expressed confidence about the Iranian nation's victory over enemies' plots and pressures. "The Islamic Iran has achieved eye-catching success in its confrontation with the arrogant powers and the complicated and huge economic and propaganda network affiliated to them," Ayatollah Khamenei said, addressing members of Students' Islamic Associations in Europe at a meeting here in Tehran on Sunday. The Leader noted that Iran's standing against western sanctions and Tehran's progresses in the nuclear filed were part of the Iranian nation's achievement, and stated that the trend of Iran's achievements will continue.
