Former MP Mohamed el-Omda filed a complaint with the prosecutor general to question leader of Al-Wafd Party el-Sayed el-Badawi over TV statements he made in June on the dissolution of the lower house of parliament. According to Omda, Badawi was interviewed by TV host Wael el-Abrashi on Dream 2 satellite channel on June 13, one day before the country's top court ruled the dissolution of parliament. On the show, Badawi said two judicial and legal figures assured him that the court will rule the unconstitutionality of the parliament and that a new one will be elected without the Freedom and Justice Party garnering a majority.
