Former licensed counselor Sheila Loven was convicted in Fort Worth, Texas, of sexual assault in an affair she had with a client. The guilty verdict Tuesday followed four days of testimony about Loven's 2009 affair with a man while he and his wife were her counseling clients, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported Wednesday. Loven, 35, could receive probation or a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison and a fine. After the conviction, Tarrant County prosecutors called a former female client to the stand, who told jurors Loven had also sexually assaulted her, and said she ended their relationship because of Loven's use of marijuana and cocaine. Testimony in the trial revealed Loven surrendered her counselor's license in 2010, and her former employer settled a civil lawsuit with the couple for $275,000, the newspaper said.
