Court to leave Razvozzhayev under arrest until August 6

The Bolotnaya Square disorders in Moscow on May 6, 2012 were organized by Georgian politician Givi Targamadze and Left Front leaders Sergei Udaltsov, Leonid Razvozzhayev and Konstantin Lebedev, the investigator stated at the court meeting on Friday when the Basmanny district court in Moscow considered the case to decide whether to leave Razvozzhayev under arrest. “Targamadze, Razvozzhayev, Udaltsov and Lebedev together with some unidentified persons organized the mass disorders on May 6 at Bolotnaya Square,” the investigator said. Court decided to leave Leonid Razvozzhayev under arrest until August 6. The case on charges of organization of the mass disorders was opened after facts shown in the Anatomy of the Protest-2 film were checked. The case was joined to the so-called Bolotnaya case. The investigators believe the disorders were prepared by Razvozzhayev, Left Front leader Udalthov, Georgian politician Targamadze and other persons. Razvozzhayev was placed in custody until April 1, 2013, on charges of preparation for organization of mass disorders. He is also charged with a false report on tortures and with illegal crossing of the Russian-Ukrainian border. The Russian Investigative Committee official also told the court about the intention to check whether Razvozzhayev was involved in "additional criminal episodes". According to the investigators' version, after the organization of the disorders at Bolotnaya Square, the Left Front leaders and Targamadze began to prepare an illegal action. For the purpose, they set up training camps and worked out plans to block railroad junctions and seize communication lines. "The criminal intentions were not carried through due to circumstances beyond their control," the investigator noted.
