
Criminal lab personnel inspected the site of the explosion that occurred outside the Italian Consulate early Saturday and will analyze physical evidence they obtained, a source with the Interior Ministry said.
The explosion was so huge that it destroyed the wall and the side facade of the Italian Consulate, MENA correspondent said.
It also destroyed windows of nine other buildings and some stores on Ramses Street.
Remaining parts of a private car could also be seen under the 6th of October Bridge.
Eyewitnesses believe the car was used in the blast. Sappers moved the car for examination.
Cairo police made detours after closing Galaa Street to traffic.
