Croatian President Ivo Josipovic and the accompanying delegation visited today the Imam Mohamed bin Abdul Wahab Grand Mosque. They were greeted upon arrival by the Minister of Awqaf (Religious Endowments) and Islamic Affairs, HE Dr. Ghaith bin Mubarak al Kuwari and a number of senior officials at the Ministry. The Croatian President has toured the Mosque and was briefed by Dr. al Kuwari on the Mosque’s design, which is inspired from the Qatari and Islamic Heritage architecture, and characterized by its Islamic-rooted decoration. Since its inauguration in December 2011, the Imam Mohamed bin Abdul Wahab Mosque has become an Islamic landmark due to its unique and outstanding style. The mosque complex can accommodate up to 30,000 worshippers and has a number of public facilities and a parking for over 300 cars. The Mosque hosts an elite of Muslim scientists and scholars for Friday sermons and lectures on various Islamic Sciences.
