
Cypriot President Nicos Anastasiades on Friday received the credentials of Egypt's new ambassador Hussein Tantawy Mubaraj.
In a press release on Friday, the Cypriot Embassy in Cairo said that Egypt's new ambassador has delivered, during the meeting, President Abdel Fattah El Sisi's greetings for Cypriots.
During the meeting, the diplomat asserted that Egypt is supporting the Cypriot president's efforts to reach a just, inclusive and permanent solution to the Cypriot cause according to the United Nations Security Council's resolutions.
Meanwhile, the Cypriot president pointed out to Sisi's historic visit to Cyprus last April, in which the two countries have signed a number of agreements.
He also said that Egypt is considered an Arab ally in the international coalition against Daesh, shedding light on Egypt's role in the war against terrorism.
